Explore the Benefits of Our reSET Program with Maven Health
We’re excited to announce our partnership with Maven Health, showcasing the benefits of our reSET 5-day fasting mimicking program. This fasting mimicking diet is designed to support metabolism, fat-burning, and gut health—and through Maven's saliva testing of metabolites, we are now able to track these impacts!

Energy Reprogramming: Making Metabolism More Efficient
When it comes to cellular health, the Warburg effect is a phenomenon where, when food is continuously in excess, cells start to prioritize glycolysis (sugar breakdown) for energy, even when oxygen is available. This is not the most efficient way to produce energy and is sometimes associated with chronic disease risks. But certain diets, like the one we tested with Eat By Alex, might help reprogram cells to use energy pathways more efficiently, leading to what’s known as an “anti-Warburg effect.”
Markers of Energy Reprogramming
In our study, we observed increases in three specific metabolites—glutamate, glutamine, and succinate—all of which feed into the mitochondria for energy production:
-
Glutamate and Glutamine: These metabolites help fuel the tricarboxylic acid cycle, and elevated levels are indicative of a more efficient energy production in cells.
-
Succinate: Higher succinate levels indicated that the body was relying more on efficient energy pathways.
Why This Shift in Energy Metabolism Matters for Nutritionists and Health & Wellness Professionals
For nutrition and wellness professionals, this study’s findings on energy reprogramming provide a new layer of insight. It’s not just about calorie counts but about understanding how efficiently the body is using those calories. This “anti-Warburg effect” data means you can offer clients more than just a weight-loss program—you’re supporting their cellular health and optimizing their metabolism for long-term resilience. The ability to non-invasively measure these shifts means you can personalize diets not only for weight goals but for metabolic health, giving clients a more holistic approach to wellness.
