Your Program Journey Step by Step

DAY 1 - ACTIVATION

You have reduced your calories from a regular diet to about 1100 kcal. Your body may now start entering into fasting mode. This is also when you may start the process of cellular clean-up, called autophagy. For some, fat burning starts right away.

DAY 2 - KETOGENESIS

As you further restrict your daily calories to 800 kcal, your body may start to produce ketones. By the end of the day, ketosis may start. Ketosis is a metabolic state in which the body uses fat, rather than glucose (sugar), as its primary source of energy.

DAY 3 - CLEANSE

Research shows that when the food intake is reduced, such as today with 800 kcal again, the energy levels of cells drop. This stress signals cells to initiate autophagy as a way to recycle existing components and maintain cellular function. Fat burning and ketosis may also increase today.

DAY 4 - REJUVENATION

Today you will eat 800 kcal again. Autophagy should reach its peak, and you may feel a boost of energy and positive mood. Fat-burning might continue, and feelings of hunger might also be further reduced.

DAY 5 - ENERGY

Today is your last day on 800 calories and your body is freshly energised and reset. Cellular renewal may continue beyond day 5, with lasting results of fat burning, increased mental clarity, and energy.

This high fat, low carbohydrate dietary approach involves periods of reduced calorie intake designed to mimic the effects of fasting, leading to a calorie deficit. When is reSET delivered?

Your whole 5-day program is delivered on your selected Wednesday between 16:00 - 22:00. Your delivery time depends on your shipping location. You will receive further information about your delivery on the morning of delivery from your delivery courier - Swiss Post or NoTime.

Can I pick up my program?

Yes, you can pick up at our office on Splügenstrasse 9, 8002, Zurich. We'd love to meet you in person!

If you choose a pick-up you will receive an email or WhatsApp asking what date/time you'd like to pick-up your program. Our office is open Monday-Friday from 10:00-17:00. After ordering, you can email or WhatsApp to let us know when you will come to pick-up.

When can I start?

You can start your program on any day after your selected Wednesday delivery. For example, you can wait and start on Monday morning.

How? The soups in reSET are delivered frozen to maintain maximum freshness. Upon delivery, keep your soups frozen until consuming, by keeping them in your freezer. When you're ready to start - thaw the soups for the upcoming reSET day in your fridge overnight.

How does fasting-mimicking work?

reSET is a 5-day program inspired by the fasting-mimicking diet created by Dr. Valter Longo. He has dedicated years of research to achieving longevity, slow aging, reducing disease and weight management through plant-based and whole food nutrition. You can read more about it in his book “The Longevity Diet” which we highly recommend. Eat by Alex created this program using the concept of fasting-mimicking which puts your body into a fasting mode while still providing the right nutrients and supplements to your body. The restricted calorie diet makes your body think you are fasting and therefore reset and cleanse. The package includes all your meals as well as supplements for 5 days.

What are the macronutrients in reSET?

In reSET, we follow the fasting-mimicking diet approach by Dr. Valter Longo. reSET has the following macronutrient breakdown:


Fats: 50-55% of daily calories

  • The primary source of fats is healthy fats, mainly monounsaturated fats (from olive oil, nuts, and seeds) and polyunsaturated fats
  • Saturated fats, found in foods like dairy, are not found in reSET.
  • Trans fats and highly processed oils are not found in reSET.

Carbohydrates: 35-40% of daily calories

  • Carbohydrates come from whole grains (like whole wheat, farro, quinoa, and brown rice), fruits, vegetables, and legumes.
  • Processed and refined carbs (e.g., white bread, pasta, sugary foods) are not found in reSET.

Proteins: 10-15% of daily calories

  • Protein sources include legumes, nuts, seeds
How often can you do reSET?

No more than one week every month if you are healthy with a normal weight and if you are regularly exercising.

Who can take part in reSET?

People who are:

  • Aged between 18 and 60 years old
  • Healthy
  • Healthy weight
  • Feeling strong in their body
  • Not sick – even a mild flu
  • Not taking any medication

Consult and seek approval from your doctor or nutritionist before signing up for reSET.

Who cannot take part in reSET?

People who are:

  • Pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Underweight (BMI less than 18.5)
  • Taking medications
  • Feeling weak
  • Sick
  • Athletes in training or competition
  • Allergic to nuts, seeds, or grains

People who have:

  • Diabetes, cancer, cardiovascular, autoimmune or neurodegenerative disease - please consult your physician for advice, permission and approval
  • Liver or kidney disease
  • Low blood pressure or high blood pressure
  • History of eating disorders
Are there any possible side effects to reSET?

Many people experience few, if any, symptoms during the reSET program. However, some symptoms are indicative of toxins leaving your body. In fact, the more toxins there are to be eliminated, the more symptoms you can experience. These feelings typically pass within the first 3 days.

You may feel weak, flu like symptoms, nausea, dry mouth, constipation or diarrhea, bloating and/or gas, feeling cold, feeling hungry, and irritability. Headaches, ranging from mild to strong migraines, are also very common during the first 2 to 3 days especially when you eliminate caffeinated drinks and refined sugars. Headaches can be relieved by drinking additional water or one black coffee.

Clinical studies have identified potential risks and discomfort associated with low calorie and low protein diets such as reSET, including anxiety, depression, dizziness, drowsiness, fatigue, headache, hunger, irritability, muscle aches, nausea or spinal pain. You may also feel kidney and liver pain as your body works very hard to detoxify.

The hungry feeling comes from the hunger hormone called Ghrelin which spikes around mealtimes. The reSET program will help you stabilise Ghrelin, and we recommend you leave at least 12 hours between your last meal and the next day’s first meal.

Is reSET like Prolon?

reSET and prolon are both 5-day fasting-mimicking programs based on the research of Dr. Valter Longo. In reSET, you will enjoy fresh and fully cooked soups. In Prolon, the soups are provided as powders. reSET also contains additional supplements, teas, mindfulness, and workouts to support your fasting journey.
