The science of reNEW

View full research

BOOST COGNITIVE FUNCTION

Studies have shown that intermittent fasting may have neuroprotective effects,  potentially reducing the risk of neurodegenerative diseases and improving cognitive function. Fasting can have direct and indirect influences on the brain, and can improve cognitive function and the prevention or progression of brain-related disorders.

Boost Cognitive Function

With intermittent fasting, one can improve their insulin sensitivity. Enhanced insulin sensitivity can improve the brain's ability to adapt and reorganise itself, and provide protection against oxidative stress, which is a factor associated with various neurological conditions

MANAGE WEIGHT

Because the eating window is reduced, individuals often tend to follow their hunger cues more closely and thus consume less calories. This leads to a calorie deficit, and consequently, weight loss.

Manage Weight

With our reNEW program, you can naturally decrease your overall calorie intake, which can lead to sustained and effective weight loss. For some, reducing your calorie intake for just one day might be easier than reducing your calorie intake on a daily basis. Considering the well-established link between obesity and various health conditions like type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart disease, adopting intermittent fasting becomes not just a weight management strategy but a holistic lifestyle measure against these health risks.

BUILD A STRONG GUT

Intermittent fasting can positively influence our gut health, because it gives gut bacteria time and rest for repopulation.

Build a Strong Gut

Furthermore, intermittent fasting has the potential to reshape the human gut microbiome by nurturing diversity and also changing the composition of microbiomes in your gut. Overall, intermittent fasting can create positive changes in both your functional capacity and composition of your gut microbiota.

SUPPORT HEART HEALTH

Intermittent fasting might also benefit cardiovascular health by reducing blood pressure, improving cholesterol and triglyceride levels, and reducing inflammation.

Support Heart Health

Studies suggest that intermittent fasting could improve the risk of various cardiovascular diseases, particularly through improvement in weight management, hypertension, dyslipidemia and diabetes. Intermittent fasting may reduce oxidative stress, improve circadian rhythms and induce ketogenesis.

How does reNEW work?

We created reNEW as a 4-week program for you to renew your healthy habits. Each week, for 4 weeks, you will receive a box containing restricted calorie meals from Eat by Alex. These meals are to be consumed on 1 day of the week, and the other 6 days of the week you are supported with recipes and guidance to eat healthy with a normal calorie intake. This is called the 6:1 method of intermittent fasting. We also encourage the 14/10 method where you consume your meals only during a 14 hour time window, and fast for 10 hours.

How does the delivery work?

Your reNEW program consists of 4 Saturday deliveries, each including one restricted calorie reNEW day. Complete one reNEW day each week for 4 weeks.

It is up to you to chose which day works best for you to consume your reNEW box. Your first delivery will be on the Saturday you specified during the order placement, the subsequent deliveries will arrive on the following 3 consecutive Saturdays after your initial delivery.
